Helen Shute

Helen Shute is the Chief Executive and Executive Producer of Rambert since March 2017.
Since joining, she has, in partnership with Rambert School, established Rambert2, a highly acclaimed new ensemble for exceptionally talented international early career dancers. In 2018, she also oversaw a worldwide search for a new Artistic Director and the appointment of Benoit Swan Pouffer. Under their leadership, Rambert has championed exciting and ambitious programmes of creations and important revivals, set to tour the UK and internationally.
Helen came to Rambert with a broad-spectrum of experience across the dance, arts and entertainment sector.
Notably, she founded Hofesh Shechter Company with the now worldwide acclaimed choreographer in 2008, after producing his seminal works Uprising (2006) and In your rooms (2007) whilst working as Programming Associate at The Place from 2005 to 2007 on a fellowship awarded by Arts Council England. Under her leadership, Hofesh Shechter Company grew to become a major national and international presence establishing significant partnerships with high profile venues in the UK and in many international dance capitals.
From 2015, Helen was HOUSE Productions’ Chief Operating Officer, working with Tessa Ross and Juliette Howell to establish the company as a new home for talent across television, drama and feature films. House’s first televised drama “Brexit” – The Uncivil War” has been nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Television Movie.
She is a board member of the London International Festival of Theatre (LIFT) and lives in South West London with her two daughters.
